CatPulse privacy policy

Effective 11 October 2026. Google Play package: com.hezarfen.catpulse.

In short

CatPulse is a care companion for cat owners: daily care tasks, medication times, observations, veterinary visits and documents. You can use it without an account. Your cat profiles and care records are stored on your device. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob; Premium removes them. We do not sell data.

Who we are

CatPulse is published by ONOUR IMPRAM VENTURES LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom under company number 17429906, which is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: onour@onourimpram.com.

Data that stays on your device

The following is stored only in the app’s storage on your device and is not sent to us:

  • Cat profiles, daily care records, observations, tasks, medications and doses, veterinary visits and appointments, contacts and caregivers, inventory and expenses
  • Profile photos and documents you choose, copied into the app's own storage
  • Language, theme, onboarding state, reminder settings and a cached copy of your Premium status

Service providers

  • Google AdMob shows ads in the free version. The data it processes is described under Advertising below.
  • RevenueCat checks whether you have Premium when the app opens. It processes an anonymous app user identifier, purchase state and purchase events when you buy or restore Premium through Google Play. Your cat profiles and care records are never sent to RevenueCat.
  • Google Play processes the purchase itself under your Google account.
  • Sentry receives crash and error reports and a small sample, about 5 percent, of performance measurements. They carry technical information such as the app version, the device model, the Android version and the error itself, with limited context such as screen names. The app turns off the Sentry SDK's default collection of personal data and removes file paths, email addresses and phone numbers from reports before they leave the device. Care records, notes, photos and documents are not attached on purpose.
  • Links you open, such as article sources, are handed to your browser and that site's own privacy practices apply.

Advertising

The free version of CatPulse shows banner ads from Google AdMob on the Home, Timeline and Learn screens and on article pages, once any consent Google requires has been answered. On the Care insights screen you can also choose to watch one rewarded ad to preview the monthly view for that visit; nothing is loaded unless you tap that button.

Premium removes the banner ads and keeps the monthly view open without an ad. The banner request does not wait for the Premium check, so a banner can appear briefly when the app starts, and it appears if the check fails or does not answer.

To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects the following and shares it with Google: your device’s advertising ID; your IP address, from which Google derives an approximate location; device and app information such as model, operating system, language and app version; diagnostic data such as crash and performance logs; and which ads you were shown and whether you tapped them. Google uses this data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention under its own privacy policy.

Every ad request is non personalised: the ad is not chosen from a profile of your past activity, although Google still uses the technical data above for delivery, frequency limits, reporting and fraud prevention. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app first asks for your consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform, and you can review your choice later from the privacy options in Settings.

Your cat profiles, care notes, medications and documents are never sent to AdMob or to any advertiser.

What we do not do

  • Your cat profiles, care records, notes, photos and documents are not sent to us. They stay on your device unless you export a backup yourself.
  • The app does not ask for location, contacts, microphone or camera.
  • This version sends no usage analytics, and there is no data sale.

Permissions

  • Internet and network state, used for ads, Premium purchases, crash reports and links you open.
  • Advertising ID (AD_ID), used by Google AdMob as described above. You can reset or delete it in Android settings.
  • Google Play billing (BILLING), used when you buy or restore Premium.
  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS), only for the care reminders you choose: task and medication times, and optional care nudges that follow your quiet hours. The app asks for this permission only when you tap to turn reminders on. Reminders are scheduled on your device and send no data, and you can turn each kind off in the app's notification settings or in Android settings.
  • Start at boot (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED), only to restore your scheduled reminders after the device restarts.
  • Vibration (VIBRATE), used by reminder alerts.
  • Biometric or device credential (USE_BIOMETRIC, USE_FINGERPRINT), only for the optional app lock you turn on. Android does the check and the app never receives your biometric data.
  • Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 12 and older, and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE), declared by the photo and file libraries the app uses, for the photos and documents you choose and the backups you export or restore.

Your choices and deletion

You can export, restore or permanently delete your local records from Settings. Backups are not encrypted by CatPulse, so store and share them carefully. Deleting local records does not remove records held by RevenueCat, Google Play, Sentry or Google AdMob; to ask about those records, email us. Uninstalling the app also removes its local data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Send requests by email; we will not ask for more information than we need to respond. In the United Kingdom you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

CatPulse is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

We update this policy before any change to the app’s data practices is released. The effective date is shown at the top of this page.
